In Japanese, Burakki means "Blacky," which apparently refers to Umbreon's main color.

Umbreon

The "Umbr" in Umbreon is thought to refer to umbra, the latin word for shadows. And the eon, well, every evolution of Eevee's ends in -eon! :)

Other names of Umbreon's include Nachtara (German), Noctali (French) and Beullaeki (Romanized Korean).
